Movie Patron Booted after Losing Ticket Stub

Syracuse, NY | A caution to moviegoers everywhere: Don't forget to pocket that torn movie ticket after it's ripped. Scott Pollard of Syracuse found out the hard way on Thursday when theatre officials removed him from the Cinema 12 complex after demanding to see his half-a-ticket, which he could not produce.

In what many believe is the beginning of a nationwide crackdown, Pollard was accosted at the popcorn butter dispenser by cinema officials who demanded to see his ticket fragment.

"I always thought I was good-to-go once I made it inside the velvet ropes, but apparently that's no longer the case," said Pollard. "Personally, I don't understand why they just don't take the entire ticket like they do everywhere else. Why do they place the burden on us to keep this garbage in our pockets?"

Frank Singleton, President of Cinema 12, claims the actions of his staff were entirely appropriate under the circumstances. "We don't believe it's too much to ask our customers to retain their ticket fragments while they remain on Cinema 12 property. It's actually for their protection, and if people don't like it I suggest they find other theatres to watch their picture shows."
