COSTCO SHOPPER BOOTED AFTER 14th FREE CRACKER

Costco management took the unprecedented step of removing a shopper from its Oakland, California store for abusing its free sample program. Bill Wentworth of San Jose, CA was forcibly ushered to the exit after management spotted him eating a 14th lobster dip cracker.

Wentworth utilized crude props to dupe unsuspecting Costco workers, such as fake beards, mirrored sunglasses, and wheelchairs. He also spoke to workers using fake foreign accents.

Costco officials determined that Wentworth would feed at each of the 8 free sample stations, change his appearance in a restroom stall, and then proceed to make the rounds once again. Each tour of the stations took him approximately 15 minutes, so by the time he was apprehended he had been gorging for almost four hours.

Ken Albertson, manager of the store, seemed relieved the whole ordeal was over. "Our customers enjoy the opportunity of sampling our products, and for the most part we are happy to oblige. But customers should be warned that abusing our system will not be tolerated, as was the case with Mr. Wentworth.
